International Ozone Day was celebrated by the Flamingo The Zoological Society of FLMSBP Government Girls College in Rewari organized a highly engaging and educational Poster Making Competition. The event aimed to raise awareness about the critical importance of the ozone layer and its protection.
Objectives:
- To educate students about the significance of the ozone layer and its role in the environment.
- To encourage creativity and expression through artistic medium.
- To foster a spirit of teamwork and collaboration among students.
Participation:
A total of 50 enthusiastic students from Science Stream participated in the competition. They were divided into small groups to work collaboratively on their posters, which reflected their understanding of ozone layer preservation and environmental advocacy.
Activities:
- The event commenced with a motivational lecture presented by Dr. Jyoti Yadav, Principal of the college. She emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and the vital role of ozone in shielding the Earth from harmful UV radiation.
- Following the lecture, Dr. Kavita Saini facilitated the competition, guiding students on how to incorporate relevant scientific facts into their artwork.
- Faculty members from the Zoology department were present to assist and provide insights to students as they created their posters.
Results:
The posters created by the students showcased a wide range of creative ideas and innovative presentations. Several entries stood out due to their informative content and artistic representation.
Conclusion:
The International Ozone Day Poster Making Competition not only enhanced students' understanding of environmental issues but also encouraged them to express their thoughts and ideas creatively.
